Parties involved in importing seeds to Israel from the United States without import permits discovered that forged PPIS import permits could be used to release the seeds upon arrival to Israel.

With the exposure of these findings, the seed package was sent for further inspection by PPIS officials.

In addition, the quarantine department has taken measures against Israel’s  Postal Authority in order to prevent the use of forged signatures and false PPIS documents in the future.
